The FDA Internship in Data Mining for Manufacturing Equipment Parameters is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Microbiology. To be considered for this internship, you should have knowledge about data exploration and analytical tools and/or with basic statistical background. As an intern, you will learn about the quality and safety assessment of liquid-based drug product manufacturing processes, especially those related to manufacturing equipment E/L. You will gain insight on how to perform data extraction from the approved liquid-based drug product review documents in FDA's internal systems, use data science techniques to take a complex set of manufacturing and formulation variables and identify correlations to E/L review outcomes, how to incorporate engineering concepts to reduce the dimensionality of the data, and will be able to generate and test hypotheses with the data. This internship is located in Silver Spring, MD.
