The NASA Autonomous Rover Navigation and Mapping on Lunar Surface Training Ground Internship is available to junior, senior, and graduate students who are majoring in engineering, robotics, physics, mathematics, physical science technologies, or related fields. To be considered for this internship, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have experience with coding, be self-motivated and enthusiastic, and be familiar with robotics, network engineering, PTP, PPS, general electronics, and software engineering. As an intern, you will develop, test, and coordinate rover activities and software in a large outdoor lunar regolith field training ground for testing of rover and construction activities. Specific tasks may include rover guidance, navigation, coordination; or hazard detection algorithm development, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm development, loop closure, SLAM processing acceleration, rover con-ops development, and/or software/hardware. This internship is located in Huntsville, AL, at the Marshall Space Flight Center.
