The LPS / NSA Future Computing Summer Internship is available to full-time undergraduate students 18 years of age and older who are citizens of the United States and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to applicants who have significant upper level coursework/experience in either math, computer science, computer engineering, or related STEM fields. Under mentorship by NSA experts from ACS, HPCS and OPS and using the same High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems as ACS researchers, interns will gain skills in a variety of areas relevant to HPC. Previous projects include adapting graph, linear algebra, and data analytics algorithms to supercomputers; training new machine learning models on specialized computer clusters, researching the viability of Ising Machines and a non-VonNeumann computer architecture. At the end of the 9-week program, the interns will present the results of their work to NSA Senior Managers and academia.
