Description

The SFMOMA Exhibition Design Internship is available to students majoring in art, design, and related fields. To be considered for this opportunity, you should have excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. You should have thorough knowledge of PC software applications (AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Suite), know how to scan and manipulate images, and be able to make 3-D models/ representations from 2-D images. Additionally, you should possess an understanding of exhibition fabrication and construction and experience with producing concepts and detailed drawing packages at all levels (concept, schematic, design development, visual alignment, prototype, bidding, and construction) for exhibition design projects. As an intern, you will learn about SFMOMA’s process in designing an exhibition, preparing, and accessing resources and materials, and creating documents to communicate design into production. Your focus will be creating base documents needed to communicate exhibition design needs to the internal staff, artists, and other institutions. This internship is offered in San Francisco, CA, as a hybrid role during the summer.
