Description

The CBS Philadelphia/Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists Trudy Haynes Scholarship is available to full-time, sophomore-level and above undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in journalism or communications. To be eligible for this award, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a minimum GPA of 3.3, identify as African American/Black, and attend an institution within the Philadelphia area (Philadelphia, South New Jersey, Delaware). Selection is based on academic merit, two letters of recommendation, and a 750-word or less essay submission emphasizing how you embody the spirit of Trudy Haynes and how you will make Philadelphia a better place through storytelling.
