Engineering
Engineering covers a wide scope: chemical, mechanical, computer, civil, environmental and electrical engineering are just a few types out there today. To put it simply, engineers design things to work a certain way, to behave under specific circumstances, and they do this by combining math with sciences like physics.
Engineers are in high demand in just about every sector of the industry. Students who major in engineering can expect mostly classes dealing with the sciences; there’s a lot of math (including calculus, unfortunately it’s unavoidable) and even more science. Once a specificity is chosen, the advanced-level courses can include everything from computer programming to biochemistry to architecture.
There are degrees available for engineering at every level of study. Folks with an engineering education build bridges, skyscrapers, infrastructure, man made lakes, cars, air conditioning systems and more; everything with moving, mechanical parts requires an engineer.
