Psychology
Psychology majors study human behavior. It’s a very large, all-encompassing major, where several paths can be taken. Types of psychology can include abnormal, behavioral, counseling, educational, clinical, sports and more.
Psychology is a relatively young science; students enrolled in this major will learn about the history of psychology including early psychologists and philosophers like Aristotle. They’ll also learn about the work of Sigmund Freud and his findings involving the id, the ego and the superego. There are required courses in math, science and possible lab work (natural psychology) to round out the major.
Students majoring in psychology can become a psychology professor, a law enforcement officer, a marketer, a guidance counselor, work with animal behavior and more. This is an incredibly broad major with a lot of potential in many different fields. It is often paired with minors in marketing, sociology, biology, math, nutrition and education.
