Have you ordered from Taco Bell and were asked if you’d like to round up your order total to the nearest dollar? If so, you’ve been a part of the Taco Bell’s Round Up campaign supporting the Taco Bell Foundation, scholarship and educational fund mission!
Tina Nguyen, Executive Director of the Taco Bell Foundation said, “With student debt in America reaching an all-time high, the Taco Bell Foundation is proud to be part of the solution, fulfilling a growing need for accessible scholarship opportunities.” With help from customers and donors, the Taco Bell Foundation has increased their awards to $6 million. That’s a $2 million increase from the 2019 award total. According to their press release, this brings the Taco Bell Foundation to $17 million in total awarded scholarships—keeping them on target to meet their commitment of awarding $21 million by 2021.
According to the Taco Bell Foundation website, the Live Más Scholarship is for the “Passioneers.” This means scholarships are not based on your grades, test scores or athletic ability, but rather your passionate and pioneering spirit. The 2020 scholarship for first-time recipients ranges from $5,000-$25,000 per student and is open to Taco Bell team members and fans, ages 16-24, nationwide. To apply, you’ll submit a simple two-minute video describing your passion and how you’ll use it to make a difference.
