Description

The MCDB Horizons Summer Research Internship is available to undergraduate students at the University of Michigan with a strong interest in biology research. To be considered for this opportunity, you must be in your first or second year on campus (inclusive of transfer students). Preference will be given to students who come from a background that is underrepresented in biology, have experienced significant financial hardship as a result of family economic circumstances, or are the first generation in their family to attend a four-year college. As an intern, you will gain hands-on research experience in a lab. Research in the MCDB Department is vibrant and diverse – you may choose to work with labs in areas related to cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, and plant biology. Horizons interns will also have the opportunity to interact with other scientists, participate in professional development activities, and present their research at a poster session.
