March is Women's History Month.
March is Women's History Month, and we're celebrating it by highlighting unique scholarships for amazing women. One of the best ways to honor such extraordinary past achievements of women is to take advantage of the opportunities awarded for your future - possibilities that would not be available to you today without their hard work, determination, and efforts. FWSF Scholarship Fund

Deadline: 3/20/25
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: $10,000 - $15,000 The FWSF Scholarship Fund is available to female students who are majoring in accounting, finance, or a financial services field. You must be enrolled at a Bay Area college / university and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.

She Leads Scholarship

Deadline: 3/30/25
Available to: High School Seniors & Undergraduate Students
Award Amount: $1,500 The She Leads Scholarship is available to high school seniors and current undergraduate students. You must identify as women of color, gender nonconforming, or have a background in Hispanic/Latino, African American, Asian, Middle Eastern, or Native American communities to be considered for this award. You must also submit a 250 - to 500 - word essay that discusses the significant challenges faced by women of color pursuing higher education and outline your plans to address and overcome these challenges.

Laurels Fund

Deadline: 3/30/25
Available to: Graduate Students
Award Amount: $3,000 The Laurels Fund Scholarship is available to female students pursuing advanced degrees in accounting. You must have completed comprehensive exams prior to the previous fall semester to be eligible for this award.

Goodwall #LeadLikeHer Challenge

Award Amount: $2,500 The Houzz Women in Architecture Scholarship is available to female undergraduate and graduate students. You must be majoring in architecture or landscape architecture to be eligible for this award.

NeW Essay Contest

Deadline: 3/31/25
Available to: High School Juniors through College Seniors
Award Amount: $1,000 The NeW Essay Contest is open to female high school juniors and seniors and current undergraduate students. To be considered, you must submit a 600 - to 750 - word essay on the following topic: "How do you think social media is shaping the values, beliefs, and critical thinking skills of young people today? Do you believe social media’s influence on opinions and decision-making has been predominantly positive, negative, or a mix of both? Why? How has the immediacy and volume of information affected the ability of young people to engage with complex issues or consider diverse perspectives? In what ways has social media changed the traditional college experience - whether in academics, social interactions, activism, or career preparation?"

1,000 Dreams Scholarship Fund

Available to: High School & College Students
Award Amount: $1,000 The 1,000 Dreams Scholarship Fund is open to female high school and college students. You must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award.

Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine (B.O.S.S.) Scholarship

Deadline: 3/31/25
Available to: High School Seniors
Award Amount: $1,000 The Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine (B.O.S.S.) Scholarship is available to cis and transgender female high school seniors. You must have at least one parent of African descent, be under the age of 20, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Noreen Clough Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: 4/1/25
Available to: Graduate Students
Award Amount: $1,000 The Noreen Clough Memorial Scholarship is available to female graduate students who are pursuing a career in fishery management or research. To be considered for this award, you must submit a 500 - word essay describing why you believe you are deserving of this scholarship and how being a recreational angler is relevant to becoming a more diverse and insightful professional.

Association for Women in Architecture Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: 4/5/25
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: $3,000 - $7,500 The Association for Women in Architecture Foundation Scholarship is available to female students who reside or attend school in California. You must be majoring in architecture, landscape architecture, urban and land planning, interior design, environmental design, urban design, or historic preservation to be eligible for this award.

Women's Initiative Scholarship

Available to: College Sophomores through College Seniors
Award Amount: $2,500 The Women's Initiative Scholarship is available to female sophomore, junior, and senior students of all majors. You must demonstrate interest in financial planning to be considered for this award.

Women on Par Scholarship

Deadline: 4/15/25
Available to: Undergraduate Students
Award Amount: $1,000 - $4,000 The Women on Par Scholarship is available to female undergraduate students in the U.S. and Canada. You must be at least 30 years of age and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award. Only the first 200 applications will be accepted.

Women in Trucking Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: 4/15/25
Available to: Undergraduate Students
Award Amount: $1,000 The Women in Trucking Foundation Scholarship is available to female students who will be attending a training facility for the purpose of advancing their career in the areas of safety, driving, technical, or leadership in the trucking industry. You must submit a short essay outlining your career objectives and demonstrate financial need to be considered for this award.

Buildgirls Scholars Program

Deadline: 4/15/25
Available to: High School Juniors & Seniors
Award Amount: $2,500 - $5,000 The Buildgirls Scholars Program is open to high school juniors and seniors. You must be planning to enter a STEM field, have at least 3.0 GPA, and have performed 20 or more hours of community service to be eligible for this award. You must try to use architecture, construction, and engineering properties to design the best solution to combat homelessness. You may apply individually or as a team.

Mary Macey Scholarship

Deadline: 4/15/25
Available to: Undergraduate Students
Award Amount: Varies The Mary Macey Scholarship is available to female undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a career in the independent grocery industry. You must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarship

Deadline: 4/18/25
Available to: Ages 18 - 23
Award Amount: $1,000 - $2,000 The Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarship is available to female students between the ages of 18 and 23. You must be continuing your studies at an accredited college in the state of Michigan, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be a resident of a county where sugarbeets are grown to be eligible for this award. Recipients of this award must be willing to commit to serving as the Sugar Queen or Court attendant for one full year. You must also be unmarried and have no minor dependents, and must remain unmarried for the entire reign.

Association of Women Contractors Scholarship

Deadline: 4/30/25
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: Varies The Association of Women Contractors Scholarship is available to female students who are enrolled in a construction - related program. You must reside or attend school in Minnesota to be eligible for this award.

Women's Southern Golf Association Scholarship

Deadline: 5/1/25
Available to: High School Seniors
Award Amount: $3,500 The Women's Southern Golf Association Scholarship is available to female high school seniors who play or have an interest in golf. You must be a resident of one of the 15 southern states or the District of Columbia to be eligible for this award.

Women in Science Scholarship

Deadline: 5/2/25
Available to: College Seniors
Award Amount: $10,000 The Women in Science Scholarship is available to female students who are entering their final year of undergraduate study. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, pursuing a degree in the atmospheric, oceanic, and climate sciences, or a related area of study to be eligible for this award.

National Cherry Queen Program

Deadline: 5/5/25
Available to: Ages 19-25
Award Amount: $1,500 - $10,000 The National Cherry Queen Program is open to female students who are between the ages of 19 and 25 and residing in Michigan. You must be of good character and conduct, have never been convicted of a crime, be single, and not be pregnant or have children to be eligible for this award. Also, you are not permitted to smoke, vape, or consume alcohol at any time during the competition. The top recipient will become the spokesperson for the National Cherry Festival and the Cherry Industry.

Julie A. Keil Women in Hydro Scholarship

Deadline: 5/15/25
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: Varies The Julie A. Keil Women in Hydro Scholarship is available to women who are majoring in a discipline relevant to entering the hydropower industry. You must demonstrate academic merit and financial need to be considered for this award.

HeySunday Success Scholarship for Single Moms

Deadline: 6/1/25
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: $2,500 The HeySunday Success Scholarship for Single Moms is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are mothers. To be considered, you must submit a 450 - to 550 - word essay on the following topic: "What inspired you to continue your education? What obstacles have you faced? How do you manage your roles as both a student and a mother?"

Amie Dansby Women in Technology Award

Available to: High School Seniors
Award Amount: $1,500 The Amie Dansby Women in Technology Award is available to female high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in a videogame or technology - based field. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Empowering Women through STEM Grant

Deadline: 9/30/25
Available to: High School Juniors & Seniors
Award Amount: $2,000 The Empowering Women through STEM Grant is available to female, non-binary, and female identifying high school juniors and seniors. You must be planning to attend the Universal Technical Institute, Motorcycle and Marine Mechanics Institute, or NASCAR Technical Institute to be eligible for this award.

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education

Deadline: Varies
Available to: College Juniors through Graduate Students
Award Amount: $3,000 The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education is available to female students in the United States and Canada. You must be a citizen of the US or Canada and attend a college or university in the US or Canada. You must be within 24 months of completing your educational goal and have spent at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student during your adult life to be eligible for this award. Students in doctoral and professional degree programs are not eligible.
Women's History Month is a relatively new month-long observance in the United States. It's only about 40 years old and is a nationally recognized month. According to a National Women's History Alliance article, National Women's History Month began in 1980 with a proclamation from then president, Jimmy Carter. Remember, plenty of additional scholarships are available that aren't exclusive to women. Check your scholarship matches regularly for more opportunities you qualify for.
