Description

The Family Programming Internship is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are studying education, museum education, museum studies, history, art history, or a related field. To be considered for this opportunity, you should be interested in working with families with children ages 3 - 12 and in art-making. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to projects. As an intern, you will conduct research for programs related to new exhibitions (Real Clothes Real Lives, Pets and the City, Holiday Express, etc.) and special holiday programming (Halloween, Historical Train Weekend, etc.) as well as become an integral member of the Family Programs team. You will assist with marketing, administrative tasks, preparing materials for programs, and staffing a variety of other family programs for the New-York Historical Society and DiMenna Children’s History Museum. By the end of the internship, you will have gained experience with researching, developing, and delivering out-of-school-time programs for a variety of family audiences.
