Chabot Space and Science Center Internship

Description

The Chabot Space and Science Center Internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a career in the museum field and have a strong interest in science and education. To be eligible for this internship, you must: have a desire to gain hands-on experience in exhibit development and the overall workings of a science museum; and possess strong creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm and problem-solving skills; have excellent research, writing, verbal communication and strong computer skills; have experience with digital imaging, graphic design and/or CAD software (Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXPress, AutoCAD, etc.); have shop skills and experience using hand and power tools to work with wood, plastics, metals and paints; and have prior collections management experience. Interns will work as part of a team with the exhibits manager, exhibit content developers, exhibit technicians and exhibit volunteers. Three letters of recommendation are required.
