The Higher Education Research Experience at Oak Ridge National Laboratory Program for Undergraduate and Post-BS/AAS Degree Students is available to students who are pursuing a degree or career in science, mathematics, engineering, technology or a related field. The 2- to 12-month program allows students to complement academic programs and improve scientific literacy by assisting with Oak Ridge National Laboratory's research in the fields of neutron science, biological systems, energy, advanced materials, national security, super computing and other areas. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien, be at least 18 years old, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be enrolled as at an accredited U.S. college or university or have received a two-year college or bachelor's degree within one year of the participating term.
