STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields are commonly known as fields dominated by men. But, why is that? Many believe that there's a lack of visibility of female role models within STEM fields. Others believe women need to be encouraged to pursue career paths within STEM fields, starting from an early age.
Bridging the gender gap in STEM fields is top priority to many, which is why there are so many college scholarships specifically for women pursuing studies within STEM subjects.

Award Amount: $5,000 The Women In Stem Award is available to full - time, female undergraduate students who reside and attend school in Texas. You must be majoring in a STEM field, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible for this award.

Award Amount: $2,000 The Dynamic Edge Women in STEM Scholarship is available to female high school seniors, undergraduate students, and those pursuing technological certifications. You must reside or attend school in Michigan or Tennessee to be eligible for this award. You must also submit an essay about your favorite tech invention of the past 10 years and why, or what your goals are as a Dynamic Woman in IT.

Award Amount: $1,000 The ABC Humane Wildlife Women In STEM Academic Scholarship is available to female undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in STEM fields. To be considered, you submit a 1,000 - word essay on the following topic: "Why are you passionate about science, technology, engineering, or math, and how will your pursuit of these fields help preserve biodiversity, improve the health of our planet, or alleviate human suffering?"
