How to Apply for the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must compete in the U.S. National Championship, which is an in-person event held during the summer. This year’s Championship will take place in Orlando, Florida, on June 17 – 19. Scholarship awards are distributed to the top three competitors:
• First place: $3,000 • Second place: $2,000 • Third place: $1,000 To qualify for the National Championship, applicants, ages 13 – 22, must take a Microsoft Office Specialist exam. They can complete this exam in the fall or spring, and they can also take the exam as many times as they like to improve their score.
At the end of both the Fall and Spring Qualifying Periods, two winners from each of the testing categories (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) will be selected to compete at the national level. In total, 12 applicants will compete from each state, six from the fall qualifying pool and six from the spring. The National Winner will receive a chance to compete at the World Championship, where the grand prize is an $8,000 scholarship.
