According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), 90% of children ages two and up play video games, and kids between the ages of 8 and 17 spend roughly an hour and a half to two hours daily playing them. High school and college students can use their video game expertise to pay for their higher education by applying for the $2,000 Apex Minecraft Scholarship. Apex Minecraft Scholarship

The seventh annual Apex Minecraft Scholarship is open now. The winner will receive $2,000. The deadline for the award is July 31. While the Minecraft Scholarship requires an essay, the requirements are minimal, making this a quick and easy scholarship to apply for. The winner will be selected in August, shortly after the deadline. Apex Hosting hopes that the scholarship helps to bridge the gap between video games and education. They state, “Minecraft has been used in many different facets of education and we want to know how you believe that the game can be further utilized to enhance learning and development. We are interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences about how this amazing game that we love can be much more than just a game.”
