This contest is perfect for aspiring politicians and those interested in careers in political science, the advocacy field, and related subjects. Equal Justice Scholarship Deadline: May 31, 2021 Award: $1,000 Eligibility: Current high school seniors, college students, or graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 penning an essay on citizenship! This is another scholarship perfect for those interested in activism, advocacy, politics, and law. To be considered for this award, simply write an 800-word essay on “What issues within the criminal justice system do you believe need to be addressed? Why? What is a practical solution to these problems?” This scholarship is excellent for those passionate about social justice and advocacy. Pour your heart out in your essay to be in the running for this opportunity! 2021 Healthy Communities Scholarship Deadline: May 31, 2021 Award: $1,000 Eligibility: Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Calling all future doctors and health professionals! This scholarship is all about encouraging sustainable and health initiatives in your community. If this sounds like you, go ahead and give it a try! This award is a great opportunity to expand on any potential experience you may have with local health initiatives in your community. Put that experience to good use by potentially winning some money! $2,500 Easy Scholarship: Answer 3 Quick Questions to Improve Education on Race, Racism, and History Deadline: May 31, 2021 Award: $2,500 Eligibility: Less than 25 years of age By answering just three questions on race, racism, and history, you can be considered for this $2,500 award! The sponsors of this scholarship will be using the responses to improve education on these topics nationwide. Those who are well-versed in history and have a passion for justice should take advantage of this opportunity and potentially leave a mark on US education! “Stuck at Prom” Scholarship Contest Deadline: July 21, 2021 Award: Up to $10,000 Eligibility: Students aged 14-19 This scholarship is one of the most creative ones I’ve seen on Fastweb; it requires you to construct a prom outfit (either a dress or tuxedo) made entirely of Duck brand duct tape or crafting tape. Voice of Democracy Scholarship Deadline: October 21, 2021 Award: $30,000 Eligibility: High school students This high-value scholarship is one of the best ones on Fastweb, in my opinion. To be considered for a $30,000 prize, all you need to do is pen and record a 3–5 minute script on the theme: “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?” For such a high prize, the time you'll spend on this will be worth it! It's especially a fantastic opportunity for those interested in the intersection between politics and history. One Earth Young Filmmakers Scholarship Deadline: January 9, 2022 Award: $1,000 Eligibility: Students less than 25 years of age Calling all filmmakers! Use your video-making skills to apply to this scholarship while also raising awareness of a pressing climate topic. This is a good opportunity for students interested in environmental science and justice. The deadline is quite a way away, another reason to hop on this opportunity. You’ll have plenty of time to create the best video you possibly can. Ocean Awareness Contest Deadline: June 14, 2021 Award: Up to $1,500 Eligibility: Ages 11-18 I like this scholarship if for no other reason than its goal of raising awareness for the climate crisis and its impact on our oceans. This opportunity encourages students to think outside of the box to develop potential ways to combat the climate crisis. They accept submissions in the form of visual art, creative writing, oral presentations, film, multimedia, dance, poetry, music, and so much more! This wide array of submission types opens it up to so many potential applicants. Earnest $5,000 No-Essay Scholarship Deadline: June 30, 2021 Award: 50 awards of $5,000 Eligibility: Rising and current college students Win a $5,000 scholarship by simply filling out a short survey about which college you will attend and your intended major. This is probably one of the best scholarships on Fastweb right now as it is so easy to apply to with great value. OppU Achievers Scholarship Deadline: June 30, 2021 Award: $2,500 Eligibility: High school and college students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 All this scholarship requires is a maximum 500-word essay on why you are an achiever! Simply pick something you have achieved in your academic career (starting a club or initiative, consistent volunteering for a cause important to you, etc.) and talk about its significance! Many students will have some achievement they are proud of, which they can delve into in more detail for this scholarship. $2,000 Minecraft Scholarship Deadline: July 31, 2021 Award: $2,000 Eligibility: High school and college students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 You probably never thought you could turn your love of video games into a way to pay for college! Minecraft fans can submit an essay of at least 500 words on how Minecraft can positively influence education and career development for a chance to win $2,000. This is such a fun scholarship as Minecraft fans can use that knowledge to potentially pay for their education! Hopefully, one of these specialized scholarships caught your eye!
