Do you find yourself easily entertained by greeting cards at the grocery store? Or perhaps you’re the opposite. Maybe you can never find a card that says exactly what you need it to say.
Either way, we have found a
fun scholarship that will not only get your creative juices flowing but will give you the chance to create a one-of-a-kind greeting card that perfectly sums up what you want to say.
Deadline: 3/3/2025
Available to: Student at least 14 years old
Award Amount: $10,000
The Create-A-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest is open to students who are at least 14 years of age. To enter, you must submit an original design for a Christmas card, holiday card, birthday card, or all-occasion greeting card. All designs or photographs must be the original work of the applicant.
Create-a-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest Details
The Gallery Collection has been sponsoring the Create-a-Greeting Card Scholarship contest for 17 years. Today, it is open to
high school, college, and graduate students.
While wording on the card can be part of the entry, it’s not necessary. The artwork is primarily what is being judged. Many of the final products for The Gallery Collection are images only, while some contain generic wording such as “Seasons Greetings” or “Happy Birthday.”
The Gallery Collection states that holiday cards are the biggest sellers; however, they also sell Birthday and Anniversary cards. For students interested in entering, it’s recommended that they peruse The Gallery Collection designs for ideas and inspiration.
Greeting card entries will be judged on the following:
• Overall aesthetic appeal
• Quality of execution
• Creativity and Originality
• Successful incorporation of design elements
• Appropriateness for use as a greeting card
• Attractiveness to The Gallery Collection's corporate and consumer customers
• Suitability as a design in Prudent’s Gallery Collection greeting card line
Voting for the Create-a-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest
There is a voting component to this scholarship contest. Since the contest opened in July, a panel of judges places 100 greeting card designs on their website for public voting. The top 10 entries each month will move on to the Finalist Round.
The top five entries with the most votes, along with five entries that the panel of judges select, will be the official top 10 Finalists. From this group, the judges panel will choose the winner.
Online voting takes place at
The Gallery Collection website. Monthly voting will end on April 16, 2025, and a winner will be announced on May 15, 2025.
