What type of person do you have to be in order to apply for and win scholarships? While a lot of that depends on each scholarship’s specifications, the scholarship application process requires that you also be a “Goal Crusher.” A goal crusher, as defined by Fastweb’s most recent scholarship sweepstakes, is someone who sets realistic goals and crushes them.
And that’s just who our most recent winner is – a goal crusher. Congratulations to Jasmin Little of Cape Coral, Florida!
In May 2022, we launched Fastweb's $1,000 Scholarship Goal Crusher Sweepstakes. This very simple sweepstakes only required Fastweb members to fill out a short entry form each day to enter. It was open to all Fastweb members over the age of 16, and members were encouraged to submit an entry each day to increase their chances of winning.
How did you stay motivated to apply for the Scholarship Goal Crusher Sweepstakes?
Jasmin: I have a daily goal to either identify a scholarship I want to apply for or to make progress on one (for example, writing 150 more words on an essay). After completing my task, it was very easy to get into the mindset to go through a few clicks and apply to the Scholarship Goal Crusher Sweepstakes. I also had a daily reminder on my phone to help out.
What scholarship advice do you have for other students/Fastweb members?
Jasmin: The best underrated advice is to keep track of how many scholarships you enter. I have a spreadsheet with one column for deadlines, another for the link, and ones that give the requirements (word count for an essay, letter of recommendation, etc.) This helps me know which deadlines are coming up compared to the effort required for entry. Google Sheets is free and very easy to use for this kind of thing.
Why should students use Fastweb?
Jasmin: Fastweb is genuinely one of the best sites I've used. From being able to easily select which scholarships you aren't interested in to seeing right away if you don't meet the requirements (GPA, major, grade), Fastweb has made me able to search for the most scholarships. Fastweb can also function as a way to keep track of which scholarships you've applied to!
Advice from a Scholarship Winner
We’re so thankful that Jasmin Little, a junior at Oasis High School and our scholarship winner, was willing to provide more information about her education as well as her tips and tricks for scholarship application success. Read on to see how her goal-crushing habits made winning scholarships a reality for her. Why did you apply for this scholarship? Jasmin: The sciences have been my passion and long-term goal for many years now. Science labs and textbooks certainly aren't cheap, and this scholarship has provided me the perfect opportunity for my future success.Stay Tuned for More Scholarships Sweepstakes

By investing your time in your scholarship search and applications, you’re pushing yourself toward future success. To maximize your chances of finding scholarships that you qualify for and winning, do the following:- Update your Fastweb profile. How long has it been since you’ve updated your Fastweb profile? Our database is updated on a daily basis, which means we’re constantly adding new opportunities for our members.
- Set a weekly, or daily, scholarship goal. Make a commitment to yourself to apply to 1 – 2 scholarships per week – or like Jasmin advises, do one task each day to further your scholarship search. By making the scholarship search part of your daily routine, you are ensuring that you’re doing your utmost to pay for college with free money.
- Keep applying for scholarships. Many students make the mistake of limiting their scholarship search to the junior and senior year of high school. However, there are thousands of scholarships for college, graduate, professional, and nontraditional students, especially on Fastweb. Keep applying for scholarships throughout your academic career.
